Background
With over 20 years of experience in education, Alyssa is a qualified teacher and specialist in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), dedicated to supporting children, families, and schools to achieve the best possible outcomes for vulnerable learners.
Alyssa holds a BA in English and Media Studies from Middlesex University, a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status from the University of Bedfordshire, and the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO). Her teaching journey has spanned both mainstream and specialist settings, and she continues to provide private tutoring and consultancy services across numerous counties.
In 2019, Alyssa co-founded a not-for-profit organisation, MindFit for All, that offers targeted intervention services to schools, supporting students with a wide range of needs. Alongside this, she works with a private assessment practice as a School Liaison Officer, contributing to the identification and diagnosis of dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Alyssa has been instrumental in supporting my son with his learning needs. He has dyslexia, and when he first met Alyssa, it not only affected his learning but also his confidence. Alyssa took the time to truly understand him — his strengths, his challenges, and the learning style that works best for him. She created a safe and trusting environment that immediately put him at ease.
The sessions have been incredibly beneficial. My son has made huge progress not only in his learning but also in his confidence. He trusts Alyssa completely and looks forward to their sessions each week. He genuinely enjoys learning because Alyssa teaches in a way that suits his individual style.
It’s been wonderful to see how much he has grown, and I can’t thank Alyssa enough for all her support and encouragement. She truly has a gift for helping children shine.”

Alyssa is a valued member of our team, regularly visiting schools to observe children in both formal classroom settings and social environments such as break and lunchtimes.
She has consistently proven to be highly reliable and outstanding in her work."
- David Fryatt (General Manager, The Assessment Practice)
"We’re so grateful for Alyssa’s support with both our daughters, who have been diagnosed with mild dyslexia — something that was initially missed by the school in our eldest’s case. Alyssa has a natural way with children. Our girls felt completely at ease in her presence, which allowed them to relax, be themselves, and truly show their capabilities during her sessions. She was able to pinpoint the concerns we had, but also explained everything so clearly that we felt reassured and informed throughout.
I would highly recommend Alyssa to anyone struggling with any aspect of school or behavioural challenges. Her knowledge and approach are second to none."
